The Cot-tage 2010

Well, we have survived a week long holiday at the Cot-tage....we say cot-tage, not cottage, emphasis on the "tage", say it like you are a pretentious frenchman...

Welcome

Once we dumped our stuff at the cot-tage and called "mine" on our bedrooms (there were 7 to choose from)
we all headed to the beach

Here's a few picures of what the cottage was like:

Kitchen was upstairs with a deck off the side which looked down on the firepit and swamp/marsh/pond/river/water

The main floor had the "great room" (don't all cottages have a "great room"?), 6 of the bedrooms, bathroom and laundry room

Master bedroom and master bath were upstairs but I forgot to take pictures of the bedrooms and bathrooms, eh who cares anyway....

So what does one do at the cot-tage....well let's see....

There was the hot tub....

There were campfires nearly every night

With marshmallows, spider dogs, and s'mores (no more s'mores, no s'mores...seys Toby)

I think this is were I should mention that this was the moment that we realized that the boy was a little too interested in the fire and I began thinking of my future as the mother of an arsonist....

Twisted Firestarter...remember this...
Sorry, I digress....

There was fishing at the pond/river/marsh/swamp/water - the best fishing was under the bridge. The boys caught sunfish, rock bass, some fish that was like a sunfish and bass (I called it a sun bass), minnows, mudskipper, a big long fish, and probably ebola (it was really gross water to the momma).  Apparently there were several sightings of the biggest carp known to man but was never caught.

Of course there were more walks to the beach - it was only about a 2 minute walk to our own private beach..

I have used all the space allowed for a post so I will end this now and post more pics later - there is alot more to share from the cot-tage....
